‘Souvenirs’
This is a series of paintings I started working on when I settled in my new studio in 2022. I had some oil paints left and wanted to embrace a medium I abandoned years ago in favour of photography. Using my collection of antique postcards as reference, I created wooden panels of the same size. I promised myself to make one painting every day I was present in my studio. The total amount of paintings reflect how I’ve spent my time in the studio for this entire year. Inspiration for these works come from my own photographs, old postcards and found footage, while some are fictional.
